Javier’s Story:

Jay began receiving case management with H.O.M.E. Center in 2021. Within 6 months, he had rented his first apartment in several years. He moved from a tent into a small apartment. Thanks to donations from community members, H.O.M.E. Center was able to provide cleaning supplies and household items so Jay could get a fresh start.

“Thanks to H.O.M.E. Center, I have a place to call home. They helped me get a new start…”

“I was sleeping at the bus stop a year ago, but now, I have a place of my own thanks to H.O.M.E. Center and the volunteers who supported me…”

During the time that Brenda was enrolled in the shelter program, she received transportation to apply for housing, she received assistance with her health insurance application, she began her application for long term benefits and applied for local services to help ensure she was able to move into housing and remain housed. She continues to receive case management and volunteers and staff often provide transportation, as well. A team of volunteers and staff helped make her transition into an apartment as smooth as possible. She received furniture, household supplies, cleaning supplies and more thanks to the support of our community members.
