H.O.M.E. Center provides outreach, mitigation, and emergency response in order to reduce homelessness to functional zero in Hays County

During the “Snow-Mageddon” Freeze of 2021, H.O.M.E. Center paid for 99 motel rooms to temporarily shelter unhoused, at-risk and nursing home residents who were without power. H.O.M.E. Center volunteers prepared and delivered more than 1200 plates of food to individuals temporarily sheltered in motel rooms.
After the 2025 July Floods, H.O.M.E. Center coordinated with agencies in Burnett and surrounding counties to provide case management, to assist with surveying flood damaged areas and provided mental health and community health worker services to those impacted by the floods.
